Pligg Support

Hello, I bought the facebook module yesterday but it looks like creating a facebook apps now have to be submitted and approved. It's changed and the readme of the facebook module needs to be updated. I for one have gotten stuck. I created the app and entered in the keys but upon submission for approval you have to tick some check boxes of what functions you need. I'm not sure what to tick here? You need to be approved for the app to go live. Any help would be great!

Possible Answers

There is a video tutorial that I produced in April 2014 that guides you through the Facebook API setup process, which you can find embedded on the Facebook Module product page. You can find it directly on Youtube here:

I've sent the Pligg CMS a couple messages about it but have not had a reply! I guess I will just have to reverse the payment but I'll give them to the end of the week to respond.

Been a while since I created a Facebook 'APP' but the approval process isn't a big deal. Is the Facebook module you bought the one for the widget? Or the one for logging in via Facebook?

I just hard code insert the Widget into my sidebar template if you just need the widget.

If instead you bought the 'Facebook Module' for logging in then I'm guessing you'll need API and Oauth.

    Hope this helps a little.

It's the one for logging in/registering via facebook module. The thing is when you go to create a facebook app, you have to tick some boxes at the end which customizes what parts of the api you can use. I don't know what I need ticked?

Those are in the advance settings and not the basic settings.

I think by default it gives you the following.

    Client OAuth Login

    Embedded browser OAuth Login

Submitting a Question or Comment

By taking a minute to research previous posts you may receive an answer much faster than waiting for a response to a new question. Begin by searching the support section for an answer. Sometimes you may even want to extend your search to the entire domain.

If you are unable to find a relevant answer, submit a new question or comment here. Please provide a detailed description and, when necessary, debugging information such as your server environment (a link to a <?php phypinfo(); ?> .php page would be very helpful), your web browser, and any steps necessary to reproduce your issue.

Submitting an Answer

If you have an answer or useful response that you would like to add to a post, you can submit it as a comment which other users will then vote on. Answers are sorted by most popular to least, allowing the best information to climb to the top of the page.

Please read and vote for existing answers before submitting your own, as there may already be an acceptable answer provided. You can use the "Reply" link found within an answer to submit a response to it, in case you want to expand or comment on someone else's contribution.

Including Files or Code

Sometimes it is necessary for you to attach a file or include a snippet of code for others to reference in your response. In most cases, you can .zip up files and attach them to a question or answer using Pligg's file manager. At times though this may fail, and in these circumstances we recommend using a third party host. Below we are including a list of recommended websites where you can share easily share file uploads (or snippets of code) through the web.
