i will try this n tell user_4151535 Why does edit story load so slowly? 106 days
I believe what Oxy is inferring is to change the code in your template where each avatar shows up from the ones that pligg generates when a user uploads the image, to the original which is also placed in the same folder. ChuckRoast Animated GIFs/Avatars 106 days
I suggest that you place code snippets on http://pastebin.com/ and then include a link to it within your comment. Similarly, you may need to depend on other third party services to host files if you are unable to attach them using the provided tools on Pligg.com. UPDATE: I've now added a new "Help" tab to the story page, which gives users directions on how they can use the Support area. It also includes a list of suggested file/snippet hosts that can be used as alternatives. Yankidank Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 106 days

Well this one is nicer but less effective when it comes to posting a question or answer with html code. The old one was simple to use with all the features to post code and html. I felt so embarrassed and frustrated when I was trying to post an answer this morning. It took me an hour with no success to explain the steps that include html. I ended up posting the answer on my server and provided a link. Maybe a pinned post about how to use Html and what is allowed would be of great help. That is the difference between the two forums. redwine Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 106 days
There were a number of (mostly technical) reasons why I chose to retire the vBulletin forum, but what I consider to be the most important reason for switching to the current /support area is so that we can showcase Pligg CMS on our website. Pligg is a versatile system that can be utilized in a variety of ways, from social networks to community support desks like /support. The demo (http://demo.pligg.com) gives users a look at what Pligg looks like out of the box, but /support represents what can be done with a little tinkering and creative thinking. Perhaps a solution to some of the complaints would be to elect a few community moderators who would have the ability to change the status of posts. I haven't been able to moderate content much myself due to other work obligations (outside of Pligg). If anyone is interested in taking up this sort of position, please leave a reply to this comment and I'll review your posting activity to see if you would be a good fit. If anyone has any other suggestions on how we might be able to improve the current system, I'm all ears. Yankidank Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 106 days
For Top Users page (members list), open topusers_data.tpl and at the very top, add: {php} global $main_smarty, $user; $main_smarty->assign('userLevel', $user->level); {/php} On the same file, add the code below where you want the badge to appear: {if $userLevel "verified"}SPECIAL BADGE HERE{/if} OxyThemes Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 107 days
if you haven't done it yet, here is the solution: [link] http://discretefeed.com/test/add-badge-to-verified-users.html [/link] I posted it on my server. I'm sorry I'm having trouble uploading a zip file and it seems I'm not familiar with how to show html code in the answer here! Any help? redwine Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 107 days
The original animated GIF is also uploaded, thus you can also use that instead of the 100x100 JPG thumbnail. OxyThemes Animated GIFs/Avatars 107 days
Bingo OxyThemes! I was able to use that code in link_summary.tpl and have it display next to the username, which is exactly what I wanted now how can I have it display everywhere that user may appear? Essentially I only need it to display at the bottom of the story, in that specific users profile page, and next to the verified users names in search results. I tried the code about in user_naviagtion.tpl but it wasnt wokring. Any ideas? Thanks! rafalny Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 111 days
There are many sections in Pligg where the users appear, i.e. below the news title, the main user profile page, top users page, etc. Where or what section do you want the badge to display? So for example you want the badge to display below the news title, you can use the variable/code: {if $user_extra_fields.user_level eq "verified"}SPECIAL BADGE HERE{/if} OxyThemes Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 111 days
UPDATE: I was able to create a new user level called "verified". I updated the database and it reflects correctly in my admin panel. Now I'm wondering what code I need and where to put it, to display a badge next to everyone with user level "verified". Also does any new user level such as this "verfied" on that I created, have the same power as a "normal" user? Thanks! rafalny Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 112 days
Thanks for the reply jhawkin, I thought of just setting them as "Mod" user level but I don't want to give them access to deleting etc. Any idea how to create a new user level, to have the same power as a normal user but with an icon by the name? rafalny Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 112 days
Well there's two user levels for posters.... Admin and Normal. Shouldn't be too hard to add an icon to represent them. And that code could be in the templates. Extending the user types might be a little more challenging but not much. Also, you might use the Karma system to add an icon within the templates according to karma level. Reminds me of running a web board that was originally coded by Albert Fong. That cgi (in perl) had five user levels with military looking badges when released by the CyberArmy. The Admin level user(s) would get a generals badge, stars or something and the users would get stripes added according to karma level. Just my thoughts. jhawkin Adding a badge or icon for mods or special accounts 112 days
I also like the old support forum. I think the voting system used here doesn't work really well. Some valid questions that didnt get enough votes are buried down :( OxyThemes Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 112 days
The forum was actually a nightmare to maintain. It also took a ton of server resources which increased Pligg's operational expenses. ChuckRoast Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 114 days
Yes, the forum was better for me. jhawkin Do you think we should switch back to the old forums? 114 days
Hi.... I have installed sitemap module to my site http://www.postzippy.com but it is not working correctly it is submitting links to google but not indexing... Please help me... how to automatically submit sitemap t google??? user_6959222 How to Install Pligg Modules 122 days
It wouldn't be possible because all the electrical, gas, sewer, water lines have been ripped out of the walls, floors, etc. It would cost more to repair than the house is worth. Please help by sharing the Indiegogo link? ChuckRoast Out of commission for a while 150 days
Wow! So can they crane your house out? You got somewhere to stay now? I have no money at the moment but currently developing a pretty big pligg project and would certainly owe you a percentage of it's success when the time comes! Oxplode Out of commission for a while 153 days
