Congratulations go out to Greg over at lensroll.com for winning this past weekends contest. Besides the normal rewards he’s getting a free custom Chrome App for his Pligg site. Making it much more visible to Chrome’s 120+ million users. Chrome is now the most used web browser in the world.
I can’t believe nobody has done the “Make ChuckRoast Happy for 1 Penny” and as of this post it’s still available for $0.01
Well it’s Module Monday and today we are going to be talking about a rather new module but none the less a very important module for any Pligg site owner.
The DropBox Backup Module by Yankidank one of those modules I would consider a necessity. I am big fan of DropBox. Simply sign up, download their software and away we go. It’s a free service but they give you a large amount of space to start with. You can earn more or you can upgrade if you want but I think the free space they provide is plenty for almost any Pligg site and if you use this link, you’ll get an extra 500mb of space. Backing up your Pligg site to the cloud is the way to go.
Dropbox is similar to Google Drive in that they both provide you with free cloud storage. If you are like me and you like double redundancy then you can also get a google drive account and then sync it up with the same folder used by dropbox. So when you backup your Pligg site, it’s actually backing up to 3 places. 2 on separate cloud storage services, and one on your local hard drive. That’s the way to go! You can never be overly backed up. I’ve seen backups fail before, so having 3 makes you a much smarter Pligger.
So last night I added something to my wishlist that isn’t related to code writing, but I just couldn’t resist. I want it so bad. It was hard to keep my mind off it today. It’s a pair of bluetooth sunglasses. If I wasn’t so deep in debt with medical bills. Those would be mine right now and I would wear them proudly. If someone buys me these Sunglasses. I promise to post a picture of me wearing them holding a card with your Pligg website address.
Tune in tomorrow
