Shout-out’s to Nicolas, Label and Co, and Aurélien for making contributions today. There may have been more but it seems that Paypal had a meltdown today. Speaking of melting. The temperature got up to a tropical 44F today melting much of the snow we just got the past several days.
As of this post there is only about 10 hours left on my Indiegogo Campaign. It looks as though it’s going to go out with a whimper instead of with a bang. I know I set my goal too high. So I might break it down into 3 separate campaigns. All with different accomplishments along with lower goals. I also will be making some changes here on the blog in the following days. I want to get back to writing more Pligg related topics like tutorials and such.
Today I released 2 free “helper” modules for Pligg 2.x.x. A helper module is basically a module that contains a library of functions for other modules to use. They assist other module developers in providing a base from which to work from. The first one was AngularJS. It’s a gigantic framework and clocks in at 17.2mb compressed. It’s being hosted on Googles code hosting as to not bog down the Pligg servers. Even though it says on the page, not to download unless another module requires it. People will still download it and then complain that it does nothing. It always happens with helper modules. People automatically assimilate the word module with function. The second “helper” module is jQuery UI which will help developers design rich components to be used within their modules and templates.
If you would like to contribute you can do so from here I could really use the help.
Tune in tomorrow
