Today was Black Friday. No I didn’t go shopping because, well I don’t have any money and every cent goes towards medical bills and soup. Today I would like to thank a couple people for their generosity. First Vision Jinx who got me some things off my wishlist and to Blake who has now made his second contribution. The gratitude I’m feeling at the moment is a bit overwhelming.
As many of you will notice my wishlist contains the necessary items for me to be able to take my development time off the grid. My dream would be to use a Chromebook, powered by the battery pack, which is charged by the wind turbine. Meaning it could all be done for approximately $878 Which in the scheme of things not really an unobtainable figure providing a group of people pooled their resources, or a company who would like to sponsor my initiative.
I’m sure the free press and recognition a company would receive for helping an open source project as big as Pligg become the first CMS to go green would surely surpass that amount spent in marketing dollars. Meaning, you couldn’t buy that kind of advertising at that cost. I of course would be deeply moved by it as well as mention their name in just about anything I could. I know there are some large company’s out there using Pligg as I’ve mentioned in my other posts, where this would be a drop in the bucket for them.
So if you want to be really cool like those 2 bad cats I mentioned above, take a minute and check out the rewards page, and then jump over and make a contribution. Or be extra special cool and get me a Christmas gift from my wishlist.
